Project Description

#

By mid-2006, after a concentrated public participation process, our city will have an accurate vision of its next civic structure - the new Harris Overpass.

The existing Harris Overpass is a 1950s riveted steel-plate girder style bridge, with a length of 1,867 feet, 14 joints and 28 concrete supporting piers.

The current design phase will determine how the future bridge will look and function. The design team is considering various concepts and alternatives to determine the structure layout and the overall theme of the bridge. This includes the future bridge's width and touchdown locations, aesthetic enhancements, as well as the below-bridge environment in the Haymarket area.
